Would Kellen Moore make a good coach? Eagles’ Nick Siriani weighs in

You see, just a year after landing in Philly, Moore could soon be on his way, with the New Orleans Saints the first of potentially many more teams to request an interview for his head coaching job. While the Eagles don’t run Moore’s offense per se, like Nick Sirianni still has a big say in what happens, he’s been the most effective man to call players for the team since Shane Steichen did it in the Super Bowl.
Asked how he felt about Moore eventually leading his own team, Sirianni said he believes the Boise State quarterback would do a great job because he has the right mindset and personality to fulfill the role.

“Yeah, I think Kellen Moore is very thorough in everything he does. Very smart. Played at a very high level and did this at a very high level, so I can relate to the players in that aspect. He puts guys in good positions to succeed. He can lead men. He is a good leader of men. You know, as I’m sitting here watching him set up the offense, you know, you can just see that and you can say, ‘Man, he’d be great in front of the team.’ He’s in front of the offense right now, but man, he’d be great in front of the whole team, inspire the team, get his message to the team, coach the football to the team. You know, I trained football,” Siriani told reporters.
“You know, I just can’t say enough good things about what he’s done here as our coordinator, how much I think of him as a player and offensive coordinator. I think of him as a person. A great man of character and everything he stands for. I think he would be – yes, I should be – a great head coach. I don’t doubt my thoughts. He will be a great coach.”
Now, for fans in Philly, this wasn’t what they wanted to hear, as losing Moore would be just another crushing blow to an Eagles offense desperate for continuity after losing coordinators year after year. Then again, since this has happened so many times, the Eagles are likely ready for it, with potential options waiting in the wings, both inside and outside, depending on how things play out. But for now, Philadelphia needs to focus on the task at hand, which is beating the Packers, winning two more games, and then representing the City of Brotherly Love in the Super Bowl for the third time in the last decade.
