Warriors’ Steve Kerr is doubling down on not ‘trading it all’ for another title run
The Golden State Warriors and head coach Steve Kerr they are in an interesting situation. A 19-20 record doesn’t look promising, but it’s none of management’s business. for example, Kerr echoed Warriors guard Stephen Curry and forward Draymond Green about committing to the future.
Much of that conversation has been about the struggles so far this season. Still, the Warriors head coach remains adamant his team will stay together. He explained more about that decision on 95.7 The Game.
“We’re in a really unique place, in a really tough situation, nobody’s fault by the way,” Kerr said. “Steph, Draymond and I talked about it together. It would be so irresponsible for this franchise to trade everything for one last shot at the title.”
Some of the young players on the roster were key players. For example, Brandin Podziemski, Jonathan Cumminga and Moses Moody are among some of those players. Kuminga has been a key piece for them this season. His two-way game has helped Golden State to some close wins this season.
Steve Kerr likes what the Warriors have
It was a similar situation in the 2022 season. Golden State had an older roster with some key players. One of them was Jordan Poole. His play helped the Warriors reach the NBA Finals. Interestingly, Poole’s performance in the Finals helped win the game for Golden State.

Fast forward and the franchise is another interesting predicament. It is similar to the one from 2022, but without the same heroes in the game. However, the The Warriors’ struggles could send Curry into an unexpected early retirement. At the same time, he is remained committed to the franchisealong with Kerr.
“We’re all on the same page,” Kerr said. “Players, management, ownership.” We are all on the same page. We trust each other, we fight together. We’re in this together and whatever direction we go, we’re all on board.”
Despite being a game below .500, that’s not a concern for the franchise. After trading for Dennis Schroeder in December, some of the issues remain with the franchise. However, the four-time NBA champion coach has no doubts whatever comes next.
“I have 100% confidence in our organization to do the right thing, and sometimes the right thing is to do nothing,” Kerr said. “It depends on what you’re going to do, what that means.” And Mike (Dunleavy) is so good at his job. I feel in excellent hands with him and the entire organization. And they’re all watching.”
Golden State could still shock people with moves at the deadline. No matter, Kerr insists on keeping the main thing, the main thing.
