Stephen Curry suffered an ankle injury in the Warriors’ win over the Washington Wizards on Saturday. However, Curry has vowed to be ready to play, and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said before Monday’s game that the shooter “Should be good to go,” according to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk.

If Curry plays as expected, it will be an intriguing matchup between two teams that played in the 2022 NBA Finals with multiple players still on their respective rosters. Curry and Andrew Wiggins would represent the home team, while stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown continue to carry the torch for the Celtics.

Curry has been active for the Warriors, playing in six of the last seven contests, missing only the January 10th matchup with the Indiana Pacers. In that span, he posted career highs of 26.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game on 46.1% shooting from the field and 38.7% from beyond the arc.

Golden State recently returned to above .500 with wins over the Minnesota Timberwolves and Washington Wizards. However, they are 11th in the Western Conference standings as they are tied with the Phoenix Suns for what would be the final postseason spot.

That’s why wins against the better teams in the league, the Celtics, for example, would benefit the Warriors. Despite the injuries to their lineup, they must be at their best if they want to go on a winning streak and be in a strong position for a playoff spot.

So when it comes to whether Stephen Curry is playing tonight against the Celtics, the answer is yes.
