Warriors’ Brandin Podziemski cleared to return with injury against Bulls
The Golden State Warriors will have a key member of their rotation back for Thursday’s game against the Chicago Bulls. Guard Brandin Pod Ziemia is set to return later 12 games missing with an abdominal problem, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic on X.
Although he didn’t have a solid few weeks before the injury, Podziemski is a key part of the rotation. His physicality, defense, rebounding and improving offensive game make him a major commodity. after all, Podziemski has done enough to make him untouchable in the eyes of the Warriors.
After injuries to Draymond Green and Jonathan Cumminga, they were without much depth. It forced Stephen Curry to play hero ball and others to step up. Some of those players were not ready for now. As a result, they struggled. The return of Podziemski is another guy who is ready for the moment.

While Podziemski doesn’t have the superstar caliber of Curry, he brings that edge that Golden State has been missing. Again, toughness and physicality don’t show up on the stat sheet. However, they bring identity to the team. Without Green, some of that edge is gone.
Still, some of his struggles were obvious. After losing to the Denver Nuggets, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr angered Podziemski. His averages are down across the board, but his shooting percentages are down significantly. Perhaps his return from injury will spark the success he had last season.
His initial report did not say whether he would be on a minutes restriction or not. Either way, Golden State will need everything it can get from its second-year point guard. Warriors are in fight for a place to play with about half the season left. They hope Podziemski can stay healthy. He will likely be relied on as much as possible with other injuries on the team.
