VVE has already spoiled Penta’s debut with premature social media posts

When the news reported it Penta was leaving his Lucha Bro behind in AEV purgatory to make his VVE solo debut, fans had pretty high expectations for the pride of Mexico City. Then Penta was announced as Chad Gable’s mystery opponent Netflix RAW 2nd roundwith his new logo piece on the show for eagle-eyed fans to appreciate.

But then, hours before the show even aired, it happened: VVEShop shared the post on social media informing fans that Penta merchandise is available online on their official website, showing his official image, his mask, and two different t-shirt designs for fans to check out before the show.

Come on, couldn’t they wait a few hours?

Now again, Penta’s debut was anything but surprising; The promotion has very well choreographed both officially and unofficially that the former Pentagon Jr. is coming to WWE, and in the end, only uber fans online will even see the announcement.

That said, there are some question marks about his debut that fans were excited to see play out live on television, such as what name he would use in the promo, whether his mask would change from what he used in AEV , and whether or not he wanted a manager to translate for him. Granted, some of those questions remain, since the merch ads didn’t mention the manager or whether he’ll still be allowed to hit the Canadian Destroyers like they’re disappearing, but still, why not wait to share this post until after the match instead of like eight hours before the match?

Who knows, maybe Penta will wow the fans, become an instant crowd favorite and turn into the new masked luchador star that WWE has been wanting to cultivate since Mysterio started slowing down a decade ago. But with his debut being pushed back, his official image leaked, and his merch being casually released hours before his match really doesn’t bode well for his future WrestleMania main event, because no one said a word about the return of Cody Rhodes or CM Punk before they officially landed on television, even if they too could have sold some shirts a few hours before the PLEs officially went live if the promotion wanted to .
