Todd Bowles of the Buccaneers dropped an honest look at the coaching changes after the playoff exit
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the NFC South and was rewarded with a playoff game at home in the NFC Wild Card round. However, the The Buccaneers lost for the Washington Commanders, 23-20, on a game-winning field goal by Zane Gonzalez.
That was a a crushing loss for the Buccaneers after back-and-forth play, and now the team is facing questions this offseason. One of the biggest questions is whether he is a head coach or not Todd Bowles will make any coaching changes. On Monday, Bowles addressed it during the interview, though he doesn’t seem to have thought too much about it yet, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
“I’m not thinking about it right now,” Bowles said. “Again, we have exit interviews. We are fresh from losing because the days are coming when we will go from there. We’ve gone to the playoffs five times with the defensive coaches that we have, so they’re very good coaches, obviously. A lot has to happen in that. We have to get more breaks, we have to train better, but we also have to play better.”

Bowles seemed to stand behind his defensive coaches, saying they are playoff regulars with this group. However, changes could be made once the dust settles from the loss.
The Buccaneers started the year 4-2 before losing four straight and going into the bye at 4-6. However, they turned it around and won six of seven straight to finish 10-6 with the NFC South crown.
On the other hand, a loss to the 6th seed at home is not the end of the year the team was hoping for. Only time will tell if the Buccaneers decide to make some changes to the coaching staff, but it will take some time to shake off the sting of the loss.
