The The Golden State Warriors are teetering on mediocrity for large stretches of the 2024-25 season, he’s currently even at 21-21 after Monday night’s blowout a home loss to the Boston Celtics. The Warriors got off to a good start this year, but have since seen their role production cool significantly, resulting in their perfectly average record.

“I love it in Golden State,” O’Neal said. “Because when he was in Miami, he was driving me crazy, coming all the way to the lane and hitting it for a 3-pointer.” I’m like bro, pick up the damn ball. So it’s going to work in Golden State with all the shooters they have.”

The Warriors have long been synonymous with three-point shooting, as O’Neal mentioned. However, outside of Stephen Curry, the team doesn’t have a ton of reliable options in that department right now, especially after the offseason departure of Klay Thompson.
The answer to that dilemma seemed for a while to be the offseason acquisition of Buddy Hield, who started the year red-hot; however, Hield has seen his three-point percentage drop dramatically over the past two months, leading some to question whether his opening campaign was an anomaly.
Jimmy Butler would certainly provide some much-needed secondary playmaking as well as defensive versatility to a Warriors team lacking in both areas, but it’s unclear if he would be enough to bring them to the same level as teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder or Dallas Mavericks in To the west.
The Warriors will next take the floor on Wednesday night on the road against the Sacramento Kings.
