Pistons’ Cade Cunningham reveals true feelings for Rockets’ Jaylen Green

On Monday evening, Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets facing off against each other in a clash of the top two picks in the 2021 NBA Draft. Cade Cunningham and Jalen Green. Both The Pistons and Rockets have seen their rebuilds bear fruit in a huge way this season, with the former already surpassing last year’s win total by eight after a 107-96 win over Houston.

Both Cunningham and Green played well; the latter in particular has caught fire of late, proving to be more than just an empty statistic. Regardless, it’s clear there’s no love lost between the Pistons and Rockets young guards, with Cunningham, in a guest appearance on TNT’s NBA Show Tuesday, throwing light about his rivalry with Greene that had been going on since they were in high school.

“That’s exactly it. We want to compete against each other. We’ve always been pitted against each other since high school, who’s better. I think we both enjoy being able to go up against each other and see who is the best. I don’t think we need any of that (handshakes and courtesies). “We both kind of know what it is,” Cunningham said.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that the Pistons’ rising star doesn’t like Green, and the Rockets guard seems content to return the favor. Of course, this hasn’t turned into a full-blown beef yet, and it’s not entirely clear if the relationship between the two will ever reach that point.

Regardless, as much as fans want to turn this into the league’s next great rivalry, Cunningham has nothing but respect for Greeneespecially when he played a prominent role for one of the best teams in the league today in the Rockets.
