Pelicans’ Zion Williamson slams Shannon Sharpe with ‘stop going and eating everything’

As New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson has been suspended for one gamethere have been people in the basketball world who criticize the forward for his behavior off the court. Doc Stephen A. Smith was talking about Williamsonhis co-star in the movie “First Take” Shannon Sharpe gave his thoughts on the Pelicans star’s career and weighed in on possible eating habits.

Sharp was on the aforementioned program and expressed how sports media personalities care more about Williamson’s career than he does himself. Within that, he would say that instead of being on the field playing for New Orleans, he was more in the “food court.”

“It’s becoming, obviously, crystal clear, it’s becoming crystal clear that many of us want something more for Zion than Zion wants for itself.” And therein lies the problem. Sion spent a lot of time on the field. It happened to be in a mall, it’s a restaurant. You missed 27 games, it’s not like they forced this trip on you.”

“He knew they were traveling out of town and you were running late, and Chris Haines reported, Willie Green even mentioned it,” Sharpe said. “He was alluding to the things that led up to this.” You are absolutely right. Nobody wants to suspend a superstar, a star, and usually they don’t have to. Why? Because professional is a term that describes your profession. Zion Williamson is a professional basketball player, but he’s not a pro, which is how he goes about his business.

Williamson would hold himself responsible following a one-game suspension after allegedly being late for a team flight because Sharp doubled down on his feelings, throwing more hay on rumors about the star’s eating habits. So far this season, he has played eight games in which he has averaged 21.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field.

“Zion needs a change of scenery, no, it needs a change of restaurants,” Sharp said. “Stop eating everything you see, bro. It’s embarrassing. It’s a shame we’re still having this conversation. You miss half the time you’ve been in the NBA, and you think that’s okay, you think you can get away with it by being sulky, sulking, missing all this time, showing up late, it’s hard to stay in shape when you you’re a professional athlete and you’re missing time because you’re not running up and down the field, you’re not able to do that what you need to do to reduce your weight.”

“The problem is that guys like Shannon Sharpe, Stephen A. “Smith, Charles Barkley, Shaq and other guys care more about Zion’s career than Zion does,” Sharpe said. “Until Zion wants this for herself.” We will have this conversation again. This is not the last time we talk about Zion.”

The Pelicans have a poor 8-32 record that puts them in last place in the West.
