Nuggets Nightmare Scenario for 2025 NBA Road Roadline

The The 2025 NBA trade deadline is fast approaching as teams look to finalize deals to improve their rosters before February 6. The Cutters are looking to shake things up before the final stretch of the regular season and playoffs, while some of the bottom-of-the-table teams are making moves toward the future.

The The Denver Nuggets are one team that has had a lot of trade buzz around them. At the beginning of the season, when the Nuggets were struggling to put together wins, the Arguettes were linked to a lot of different players in a possible trade that included Michael Porter JR.

Since then, however, Denver Ha has started playing some of its best basketball. Michael Malone inserted Russell Westbrook into the starting lineup and kept Aaron Gordon on the bench when he returned from his calf injury, and the team thrived as a result. Even with this recent success, the Nuggets could still look like a move at the deadline.

Here are a couple of scenarios that would be disastrous for the Nuggets as they prepare to push for another championship.

Flipping Michael Porter Jr. To Zach Lavine

It’s looking less and less likely that the Nutgets will actually pull the trigger on a porter deal and talk between them and the bulls on a Possible replacements for Zach Lavine have dwindled In recent weeks. Denver’s recent performance is a great example of why it would be unwise to move from the tight end at that time.

Porter’s shooting is a huge plus for this Nuggets team, but Lavine also provides that. That’s not a key skill the NUGGETS would lose if they did. Porter’s size and ability to play three and four is a huge defense for these nuggets and allows them to have flexibility with a nice bring Gordon off the bench as they have been doing lately. Nikola Jokic is obviously going to eat up a lot of minutes in the middle, and he’s not a rim protector, so a big, long-bodied, long-armed defensive back like Porter has allowed them to survive on that side of the ball.

The Nuggets would be out of Nnaja’s contract with this deal, which is a big plus. However, the positive does not outweigh the negative that the carrier will be lost. Lavine is a better all-around scorer than Porter is and would give the NUGGETS some more creation on the offensive end of the floor, but they would become very small and Lavine’s defensive liability to organize them.

Thunder Don Shing Deal for Cam Johnson

Network receiving: Nikola Tema, Aaron Wiggins, 2025 Pick, 2027, first round

Another nightmare scenario for the Nuggets surrounds the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have run circles around the rest of the Western Conference throughout the first half of the season.

The Thunder are known to have a ton of picks to work with and now they can move them around and try to add key pieces as they prepare to compete for a championship. Another wing that can provide value on both ends while also spreading the floor for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would be an ideal accessory and Cam Johnson fits that mold Perfect.

Johnson is shooting nearly 42% from 3-point range on more than seven attempts per game this season, so he’s proven he can get the job done from outside. Adding him to the Thunder would be an additional and playable option in the starting lineup that can be used seamlessly in any matchups in the playoff series, which would be terrible news for the Nuggets.

Fortunately for Denver, this deal also appears to be losing steam as the deadline approaches. The Nuggets, like the rest of the Western Conference, appear to be far behind the Thunder as they stand, and it would be a massive effort to knock them off in the playoffs. That assignment would even be claimed if the Lightning were able to acquire Johnson, so it would be a disaster for the Nuggets if it fell at the deadline.
