Novak Djokovic he will play Alexander Zverev in the 2025 semifinals Australian Open. Our Australian Open series odds has our Djokovic Zverev forecast, odds and picks. Find out how to watch Djokovic-Zverev.
Novak Djokovic is not done, not by a long shot. It was easy to think that despite all that he has accomplished in tennis, Djokovic — at 37 — was running out of gas and would struggle to win best-of-five matches against the ATP’s young stars in 2025. Keep in mind that Djokovic’s huge victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the match for the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. was the best in a three-set match. Djokovic knew that in the worst case scenario he wouldn’t have to play for more than three hours, and that if he put all his energy into two sets, he would surely have enough fuel for a no-holds-barred battle royal with Alcaraz. Five-set tennis matches are a different animal. Alcaraz has beaten Djokovic at Wimbledon each of the last two years and has proven to be the better player in the five-set format. That was the biggest and best reason to think that Alcaraz would overtake Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. When Alcaraz won the first set and Djokovic looked very uncomfortable on the court, it was easy to think that the 24-time major singles champion was about to be cooked.
Djokovic continues to do so as he ages. He continues to get into and out of tight spots with an uncommon level—and quality—of determination and focus. This is why his career is so magnificent, his achievements so legendary. Djokovic doesn’t just win; he creates a spectacle to remember and triumphs not only over his opponent, but also over his larger situation. He is the ultimate escape artist in sports, not just tennis. And he loves it. He feeds on it. The fuel is still there, much more so than many skeptics thought. Djokovic defeated Alcaraz in four sets and is now in the semi-finals with a strong chance of winning his 25th major title.
Aleksandar Zverev stands in Djokovic’s way. The German quietly made his way through the draw and into another big semi-final. Zverev has appeared in several semi-finals and two major finals, but has yet to win his first major championship. Here he is, once again, with a chance to do something special. Knowing that you have failed so many times in the past is a mental burden that has been holding Zverev back. Can he be released from that prison or will Djokovic keep him in prison?

Why Novak Djokovic will win
Novak Djokovic just took down four-time major champion Carlos Alcaraz by coming from behind after losing the first set. If he can do that, he can certainly polish the less proven, less powerful Zverev in the big match.
Why Alexander Zverev will win
Aleksandar Zverev is a decade younger than Djokovic, with fresh legs and unquestionable physical fitness. If Zverev simply plays hard, big tennis, he can block the pressure and wear down Djokovic from the baseline.
Final forecast and selection of Djokovic-Zverev
A spread bet is not recommended for a match where we can easily see one player lose a set 6-3 but win the match in four or five sets. A better game is to claim the props of a won game. This match goes at least four sets, maybe five. Take Djokovic if you think he will win, like we do.
