NFL Scout named Ole Miss’ Jaxon Dart a candidate to watch ahead of the Senior Bowl
The 2025 NFL Draft quarterback class has essentially become a two-headed monster with Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward breaking away from the pack. With the Senior Bowl approaching on February 1st, one NFL scout believes that Ole Miss’ Jackson Dart could rise to the same conversation with a strong performance.
Currently projected to be a mid-round pick, Dart has “NFL Tools” that scouts may be interested in during the pre-draft process, according to ESPN’s Matt Miller.
“The more film I watch of this quarterback class, the more I like Jackson Dart,” Miller tweeted. “The scheme questions will be there, but he has NFL tools. In the question mark class at KB, I could see him progressing with a good pre-draft process. First (is the Senior Bowl).”
Dart is one of six quarterbacks who have already accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl. He joins Alabama’s Jalen Milrow, Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel, Louisville’s Tyler Shaw, Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard and Ohio State’s Will Howard on that list. Leonard and Howard will face each other first Jan. 20 in the CFP National Championship Game.
As a senior at Ole Miss, Dart threw for an SEC-leading 4,279 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and six interceptions. He added 495 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. His total yards were third in the nation behind Ward and Syracuse’s Kyle McCord.

After impressing all season long, Dart had by far his best performance of the year in the Taxlayer Gator Bowl. In his final game in an Ole Miss uniform, the senior threw for 404 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Rebels to a 52-20 victory over Duke.
Dart was virtually flawless throughout the game, leading the Rebels to score on seven of his 11 shots. He added 43 rushing yards on the ground, totaling 437 all-purpose yards in the game. In all, Ole Miss racked up 589 yards of total offense in the game.
Two months before the ball, Darts turned heads with an astounding 515-yard game with six touchdowns against Arkansas. The following week, he led Ole Miss to an upset of Georgia on third down, arguably his signature moment of the year.
Dart had some big performances throughout the year, but many were impressed with his decision to sit out the bowl game, a decision few prospects have made in the modern era. The decision showed his leadership, which is considered one of his best traits as a prospect.
