Nebraska honors Jack Hoffman after his untimely passing
Nebraska football became inspired by the courageous struggle of Jack Hoffman more than a decade ago. A Cornhuskers superfan energized the team during a brave battle against brain cancer. And he remained the inspiration for the program until 2024.
Nebraska joined the college football world in mourning Hoffman, who passed Wednesday night. His foundation, Team Jack, confirmed Hoffman’s death on Ks.

Hoffman was only 19 years old. He won the hearts of Cornhusker fans back in 2013.

Hoffman introduced himself to the Cornhuskers and CFB world as a seven-year-old.
He was suddenly thrust into the Nebraska offense. But the ‘Huskers gave him the football to score during their 2013 spring football game.

Nebraska also released a statement on Hoffman’s death.
“Jack Hoffman embodied what it means to be a Husker every day through his courage, fight and inspiration.” We are heartbroken by his loss and send all our love to the Hoffman family.” statement read at Ks.
Nebraska legend and co-host of Barstool’s Sports’ Bussin With the Bois Will Compton also reacted to the loss from Hoffmann.
“This is heartbreaking,” Compton began. “My heart goes out to the Hoffman family and everyone involved with Team Jack foundation that fights to raise money for pediatric brain cancer – all inspired by Jack Hoffman. Rest in peace Husker legend.”
Hoffman’s touchdown created awareness for childhood brain cancer. Hoffman attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He studied political scienceaccording to ABC affiliate KETV 7 in Omaha.
