Michigan football is projected to earn five stars
Alabama recently lost a commitment to five-star tackle Ty Haywood, and he’s now back on the market. The The Michigan football team picked itself up lots of back and forth with Haywood before deciding not to sign with the Crimson Tide on signing day. Haywood must soon decide where to go, and he recently picked up a prediction yes commit to the Wolverines.
“On3 @SViltfong_ and @ChadSimmons_ recorded expert predictions for Michigan to land 5-star OT Ti Haiwood,” On3 Recruits said in a post.
You Highwood is a five-star recruit according to 247 Sports. He is the No. 18 player in the class of 2025, the No. 4 OT player and the No. 6 player in the state of Texas. He currently attends Ryan High School in Denton, Texas.
“Imposing offensive tackle with impressive length for height,” Highwood’s scouting report read. “Long-armed with tremendous reach.” He gradually improved his off-ball speed during his junior year and performed well at the elite camp before his senior season to climb the loaded 2025 OT board. Possesses an outstanding multi-sport profile that includes elite throwing data in the form of double-digit 50-foot-plus repetitions in the spring of 2024, including a personal best of 58-6. A promising book of athletic testing, especially in lateral suddenness. You’re still developing consistent hand placement and technique, but if he gets inside you, you’re done.”

The potential is definitely there for Haywood to be a star, but he’s still in high school. He obviously has a lot more to do.
“An early senior season revealed some inconsistencies in leverage and footwork when engaged, but she put plenty of encouraging reps on tape during her high school career,” the scouting report continued. “Balance and body control come and go.” The sudden power can catch him on his heels, but strong enough to recover and anchor in most cases. He has the physicality and athleticism — functional and proven — to play on the outside on both ends of the O-line, but may best project to a true role at tackle. He could certainly provide roster depth/value at guard as well. Overall, he has broken into the top group of a strong 2025 OL class with the potential to become a high-end college linebacker with possible early developmental upside.”
Michigan already has one of the best recruiting classes in the country, and committing another five-star would be a great way to cap it off.
