Kings’ Domantas Sabonis talks Mike Brown, De’Aaron Fox’s internal ‘drama’
The Sacramento Kings made a hasty decision to fire head coach Mike Brown on December 28 after the start of the 13-18 season. However, they have turned things around lately under interim boss Doug Christie, winning seven in a row heading into Tuesday’s matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks.
One of the major storylines this season has been the internal drama between coach Brown and the star of the franchise De’Aaron Fox. The two have reportedly not seen eye to eye, and with the Kings looking to lock down their guard for the long haul, there is a belief that they let Brown go to make sure Fox signs a new deal.
However, a great man Domantas Sabonis shut down the rumours about the drama between Brown and Fox.

“There was a lot of drama,” Sabonis admitted. “With Fox, the coach, everybody.” But we have to think about the team and the way we play, not the outside noise.
“Everyone started talking nonsense. But we don’t pay attention to that and just do our job,” continued Sabonis.

Sabonis also praised Christie for the job he’s done since taking over for Brown:
“He has a very big heart,” Sabonis said. “He loves Sacramento very much and will give anything for the Kings organization.” You can see him every day during practice, video sessions and games. The players feel it and want to fight for him.
The vibes are in Sacramento. During this undefeated streak, they have beaten several quality teams, including the Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors and even the Boston Celtics last Friday. Sabonis has also been playing lately, scoring 20 points or more in four straight games.
While many criticized the firing of Brownmaybe that was just what Sacramento needed — a culture change. With just 1.5 games out of sixth place, the playoffs are once again a reality. And if Christie continues to improve, the Kings could give him a full-time job. He certainly has the respect of his players.
