Kings’ DeMar DeRozan reacts to Bulls tribute video with ’10-year-old’ revelation
DeMar DeRozan is back in the Windy City for the first time since he was changed to Sacramento Kings in the offseason, and he also received a tribute video for his three years with the franchise. After the game, DeRozan shared his thoughts on the dedication tape and return to Chicago.
“It was cool to come back to a place where you were loved, appreciated,” DeRozan said, via Bulls reporter KC Johnson. “My 3 years here felt like 10. I enjoyed it here. It was fun. Things like that go a long way. I am always humbled by any kind of appreciation they show.
“The first moment I came here, I tried to give my best to this organization and to the city.” And I think it showed. You can’t fake it when you really put your all into representing the Bulls. I embodied the culture of Chicago.”
It was a good three years for DeRozan with the Bulls, despite making the playoffs just once and losing in the first round to the Milwaukee Bucks. That season, the Bulls were at the top of the Eastern Conference for a while, but injury problems with Lonzo Ball caused them to slide in the standings. DeRozan noted that he thinks about what could have been if Ball had stayed healthy.
“Sure, because that’s what we came here for – to play together,” DeRozan said.

The Kings managed to defeat the Bulls 124-119, as they are currently on a seven game winning streak. It’s been a slow start to the season for the Kings, and there have been many questions about whether this team will make the playoffs this year, even after adding DeMar DeRozan in the offseason.
The Kings then made a big move and fired by Mike Brownwith Doug Christie as interim head coach. Under Christie, the Kings have looked like a different team and are now 9th in the Western Conference. There have been rumors that they might try to add more pieces, but it’s safe to say they have what it takes to compete.
Hopefully, the Kings can continue their winning streak, and they have some tough games ahead that will test them. For now, it’s good to see that they are back in the winning column, and it will be interesting to see if they continue to climb the table.
