Kawhi Leonard being excused by Clippers to help family evacuate due to LA fire

Kawhi Leonard moves away from LA Clippers indefinitely to help his family members evacuate due to the ongoing wildfires in the greater Los Angeles area, he said report by Chris Haynes on Wednesday.

The Clippers are currently on a road trip that began in Minnesota on Monday and will end on Wednesday in Denver. Their next home game is scheduled for Saturday at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, which is part of Los Angeles County.

NHL on Wednesday postponed the home game of the Los Angeles Kings against Calgary Flames in Crpito.com Arena. The Los Angeles Lakers share that stadium with the Kings and they will play the Charlotte Hornets there on Thursday.

Lakers coach JJ Reddick’s family had to evacuate their home as a result of the fire, as well as the head coach of the Golden State Warriors Ninety-year-old mother of Steve Kerr.

Leonard, an LA native, made his season debut in the Clippers’ win vs Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. He played 19 minutes and scored 12 points on 4-of-11 shooting from the field.
