Jimmy Butler lands with Suns in Bill Simmons’ 4-team trade proposal

As it is The Phoenix Suns are looking to trade Jimmy Butler from Miami Heatsports commentator Bill Simmons gives his fake trade in his self-titled show which includes a deal with four teams for that to happen. After that The Suns rounded up some first-round picks through the recent trade, it appears to be one of the first steps in a possible deal for Butler that could change the trajectory of their season.

Looking at the Simmons trade, it involves not only the obvious Phoenix and Miami teams, but also the Milwaukee Bucks who Bradley Beal and the fourth team is the Houston Rockets. While the Suns get Butler in the trade, the Heat get Milwaukee Chris Middleton and Houston’s Stephen Adams and Cam Whitmore.

“The trade I came up with was Butler to the Suns, Beal to the Bucks, Miami gets Khris Middleton, Steven Adams and Cam Whitmore from Houston, and Houston gets Brook Lopez, and it actually works,” Simmons said. “Houston would take $7.8 million to trade Adams and Whitmore for Lopez.”

“I think when people talk about 4 teams, 5 team players, it’s such a trade and a team like Houston has to be involved,” Simmons continued. “Turning Adams and one of their younger, cheaper assets into a better center.”

On the show with Simmons was NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor who had five teams where in addition to the Suns, Heat and Bucks, the other two teams were the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons.

In this scenario, Beal would go to the Bulls and Zach LaVine would go to the Bucks because, among other transactions, he was in massive trade speculation.

“The Suns get Butler, the heat of Khris Middleton and Pat Conton,” O’Connor said. “The Bulls get Bradley Beal, the Bucks get Zach LaVine, and then the Pistons take Bobby Portis into their cap space, and then you deal some picks to the team that should get them.” Like the Bulls for taking Bradley Beal instead of Avalanche.

Trade talks seem to be heating up just as much Butler wore Suns colors on his sneakers in the Heat’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. With Miami’s next game against the Bucks, Butler received a two-game suspension for missing the team’s flight to Milwaukee, leading some to believe a potential trade could take place during that stretch.

One mistake for any Butler trade would be the Suns guard Beal waives his no-trade clause that his agent Mark Bartelstein said Wednesday that he is a star “focus” is to help the team he is currently in. However, he would go on to say that he would not rule anything out via the Arizona Republic.

“Brad’s entire focus has been and is on getting healthy with his ankle and helping turn things around for the Suns,” Bartelstein said. “Having said that, I never work in terms of absolutes, which means we would never say that there would never be a trade that you wouldn’t consider…”

As the basketball world continues to brainstorm possible deals that seem to revive the season, Butler could be the missing piece. The Phoenix are currently 22-21, which puts them in 10th place in the Western Conference, as they next face the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.
