Jaguars fire GM Trent Baalke after pursuing top coaching candidates
After he couldn’t the country of some of the best candidates for the post of head coach, Jacksonville Jaguars to have decided to move on from general manager Trent Balke, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
After the move, Jaguars owner Shad Khan wrote a statement parting ways with Baalke.
“After several discussions with Trent Balke this week, we have both come to the conclusion that it is in our mutual best interest to respectfully separate, effective immediately,” Kahn wrote. “Trent leaves us with our deepest gratitude for his efforts over the past five seasons.” Ethan Waugh will serve as interim general manager and play an important role, along with others, as we continue the process of interviewing candidates for our new head coach. I am deeply committed to building winners here in Jacksonville and look forward to introducing a new head coach who will do the same for our players and fans.

As the number of head coaches continues to dwindle by the day, the Jaguars are still trying to find someone to lead their team. Liam Cohen was the top candidate for the job, but he decided to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will be the highest paid coordinator in the league.
Robert Saleh and Joe Brady appear to be the next two picks for the Jaguars, and it would be best if they go ahead and hire one of them before they leave. The Jaguars have had success the past few seasons, but this year has been a huge disappointment. That led them to parting ways with Doug Pedersonand now they are looking for a new voice in the locker room.
The offense should be something intriguing for the candidates for the head coach, and in the next few days the decision of who will be selected should come soon.
