It’s time to continue our NBA odds series with prediction and selection of heat networks.

The Miami Heat are ninth in the Eastern Conference, recently throwing back-to-back games against the Milwaukee Bucks and Portland Trail Blazers. They are just 1-5 in their last six games with Jimmy Butle once again suspended, so they will continue to look for some consistency as they look to beat the Nets once again.

The Brooklyn Nets currently hold a 12-point lead in the East, recently falling to the Phoenix Suns 108-84. They are just 1-9 in their last 10 games and have lost five straight heading into this tilt. They will be looking to get a win back over their rivals as they host their first game of the series.

Why heat can cover the spread / win

The Miami Heat will continue to move forward with Jimmy Butler under suspension as they expand their search for a possible trade destination for the disgruntled superstar. Still, the Heat have some work to do to separate themselves this season as they are right on the brink of the playoffs in the East. They didn’t pose much of a threat against Milwaukee in their most recent game, but Kelteol promised to deliver with a second-team effort of 22 points and 10 rebounds. It was his second double-double in back-to-back games and the Heat may have found their big man of the future.

Tyler Herro continues to lead the team in scoring with 24 PPG, while BAM Adebayo will have to elevate his efforts with Jimmy Butler out of the rotation. Duncan Robinson has also played well with at least 20 points in two of the last three games. The Heat have found sustained scoring without a bucket on the floor, so expect them to continue to find new ways to spread the ball around to mount their offense.

Why the networks were able to cover the spread / win

The Brooklyn Nets were blown out by the Phoenix Suns during their last game, but managed a close encounter against the New York Bones during the game before. The Nets have managed a strong home effort behind their home crowd, but their scoring in close games has been an issue that has plagued them all season. Their injury report is also stacked with Ben Simmons, CAM Thomas, Cameron Johnson and D’Angelo Russell all missing time due to injury. They will certainly need players to step up through the absence and they put in a sustained effort.

The Nets will be looking for a much needed win to claw their way out of this current loss. Despite that, they are 6-4 in their last 10 against Miami and they went 23-21 on the season. The Nets are a much better team against the spread on the road than they are at home, but the amount of injuries they’re dealing with right now matches the exceptional circumstances. It will be interesting to see which players can step up and make a name for themselves in this game.

Both teams are hitting rough patches at the moment and both will be desperate for a win in this one. The Brooklyn Nets are far from healthy and they will be fielding a lineup full of bench and role players. Although the Heat are healthier, they are dealing with their own drama within the organization and it has clearly affected their performance on the field over the last five games.

However, the Nets have been extremely poor and don’t look like they are capable of winning games with the injuries they are currently dealing with at the moment. The Miami Heat have shown a lot more fight and can score the basketball more efficiently. While the Nets will have home court advantage, it should be the Miami Heat that gets hot off the court early and sees success in this one.
