Caitlin Clark’s alleged stalker makes a scene in the courtroom

A man accused of Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clarke is lurking appeared in an Indiana court on Tuesday where a judge repeatedly urged him to stop interrupting the proceedings.

Michael Lewis, who was arrested Sunday on felony stalking charges, reportedly interrupted the judge several times, saying “guilty as charged” throughout his hearingaccording to ESPN.

“You have the right to remain silent and I expect you to apply that to me,” Judge Angela Davis told him, also imploring him to “stop talking.”

Lewis, 55, was held on $50,000 bail and ordered to stay away from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Fever’s home arena, and Hinkle Fieldhouse, where the team also plays. If convicted, Lewis faces up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Davis entered a not guilty plea on Lewis’ behalf on Tuesday, saying she would not accept a guilty plea at her initial hearing. She also appointed a public defender for Lewis.

Lewis sent Clark numerous messages through his X account, some of which contained “sexually abusive” content, according to ESPN. Prosecutors allege that the messages “actually caused Caitlin Clark to feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated or threatened” and were sent “with the intent to place Caitlin Clark in reasonable fear of sexual assault.”

In one message, Lewis said he drove past Gainbridge Fieldhouse three times a day and had “one foot on a banana peel and the other because of stalking.”

Lewis told police he wasn’t referring to Clark any damage.

“It’s a matter of imagination and fantasy and a joke, and it has nothing to do with a threat,” he told police, according to court documents obtained by The Associated Press.

Clark’s ordeal comes just a month after the Oregon man pleaded guilty to stalking UConn Women’s Basketball star Paige Bookers.

Robert Cole Parmally was sentenced to one year probation and three years probation after being charged with disturbing the peace, electronic stalking and harassment. The judge also banned him from leaving the state of Connecticut while on probation.

Similar to Lewis, Parmalee sent Bueckers numerous messages via social media and even traveled to Connecticut in an alleged attempt to meet the fifth-year UConn student.

In addition, Chicago Ski star Angel Reese alleged on her Unapologetic Angel podcast in September that some of Clark’s fans “came to my address, followed me home,” among other allegations.
