Billy Donovan points out the glaring flaws that are ruining the Bulls
CHICAGO – The Chicago Bulls they are currently in the midst of a three-game losing streak. Their most recent loss came against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night at home. One thing Chicago has been able to do well all year is score points, but that wasn’t the case on Wednesday. The Hawks managed to hold the Bulls to just 94 points, and the head coach Billy Donovan thinks so pace could be a problem for his team right now.
Wednesday’s loss was the first time since Dec. 23 that the Bulls have not scored 100 points. They were out of sync, and Billy Donovan wasn’t happy with the pace the team was playing.
“It was interesting.” Because you watch film and I didn’t think our tempo was good,” Donovan told the media ahead of Friday night’s game against the Charlotte Hornets. “I think we scored 28 points in transition, which is a huge amount.” But I didn’t like our pace. I thought the communication part, on some of the flaps and such, was not good. It started early in the game. I thought there were loose ball situations. Those things stood out. There were things in terms of identity, with the way we played, that were pretty good.”

The big thing for the Bulls going forward has to be controlling the things they can control. That’s what good teams do, and it allows them to win outside of nights like the one the Bulls had against the Hawks.
“Now, what we can control is that we shot the ball at a very, very low rate in the game,” Donovan continued. “So you look at that, but then you have to look at, what kind of footage are we generating? 62% of our shots would be considered open, quality three-point shots. So there were things we did well in the game. But when you don’t shoot the ball well, you have to have some other things you can control.”
Billy Donovan hopes his Bulls can end this losing streak at home on Friday night as Chicago hosts the Hornets.
