Ben Johnson to be Raiders HC according to Pacman Jones’ ‘really good sources’
The Las Vegas Raiders they have a head coaching vacancy after a brutal four-win season. With Antonio Pierce out, they are interviewing the best candidates to lead the team with Tom Brady helping to score. Ben Johnson is the Detroit Lions’ offensive coordinator and head coaching candidate. Former NFL player Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones told Pat McAfee that Johnson will be Raiders head coach.
“Sources say Ben Johnson is going to be the coach of the Raiders, like real good sources, like I’m talking about real good sources, we’ll say,” Jones said.
Jones also said he’s been told by good sources that Deion Sanders is staying in Colorado and not going to the Cowboys. There is a connection between the Sanders family and the Raiders this offseason. Las Vegas needs a quarterback and Shedeur Sanders is available in the draft. Could Deion have had information about the Raiders head coach looking out for his son’s best interests?
Pacman also says Deion won’t leave college unless he can coach both of his sons in the pros. Schedeur’s brother, Shiloh, is a defensive back and is headed to the NFL. If the Raiders land Johnson, it would be the most brilliant signing of the offseason.

Ben Johnson is a head coaching candidate because of his masterclass in playing with the Detroit Lions. He helped lift the franchise to a championship level with his creative offense led by Jared Goff. A superstar coordinator doesn’t always translate into a dynamite coach, but Johnson is getting a lot of buzz.
But the Raiders don’t have a quarterback anywhere near Jared Goff’s level or offensive talent anywhere near Detroit’s level. If they did, there probably wouldn’t be any job creation right now. Doc Brock Bowers had a historic rookie seasonthey won’t get anywhere without a difference-making quarterback. That’s something to consider for Johnson, who has turned down opportunities in the past.
Now, Johnson may have made the mistake of turning down the commanding officer job last year. Jaden Daniels is battling the Johnson Lions in the divisional round in his first year. Could that development scare Johnson into taking a rookie quarterback job? If so, that could land him with the Raiders.
The Raiders will get a good look at Johnson on Sunday when minority owner Tom Brady calls the game for FOX.
