Arizona State football player Kenny Dillingham hilariously acknowledged his youthful appearance

Arizona State football head coach Kenny Dillingham is one of the best young coaches in all of college football. However, one of the key words there was youth. The 34-year-old coach is the youngest coach in the FBS. Monitoring Big 12 win in Arizona State footballthey made it to the Peach Bowl.

Although they lost to Texas, the future is bright for the program. On the show Dan Patrick, head coach of the Sun Devils joked about his age. Patrick asked, “How often do you go into the opposing team’s stadium and people wonder if you’re the head coach at Arizona State?”

“The easier question is how often does it not happen?” Dillingham said. “I mean, I look like 12.”

Despite his youthful appearance, he has plenty of experience before heading to Tempe. He had coaching stints with Memphis, Auburn and Oregon that brought him national attention. He helped turn around all of that school’s criminal offenses. He still wanted to go home.

Dillingham played for ASU and that passion is evident. He was around through the Sun Devils’ first trip to the College Football Playoff in the modern era.

Looks can be deceiving, and so is Dillingham. Arizona State’s second-year football coach has led one of the best turnarounds in the country. His first season presented many challenges. The university was under a bowl ban and many other restrictions dating back to the Herm Edwards era of Sun Devil football.

Still, Dillingham accepted the challenge. The Record 3-9 did not reflect of what was being prepared. For one season, their record was reversed. They went 11-3 and won the conference. After being picked to finish last, it was quite the underdog story for a determined Arizona State team.

Despite that Arizona State football loses in the Peach Bowlthe program won the hearts of many. What’s more, those people loved Dillingham’s passion for his players, the game and the university. As the Sun Devils watch the rest of the CFP, it will be time to hit the transfer portal and hopefully bring him back.

There’s a new standard in Tempe, and it’s thanks to Dillingham. In just two years, it’s been a whirlwind in the best way. The baby-faced killer will keep the Sun Devils competitive. Maintaining their roster, core beliefs and commitment to each other will ensure another likely successful season.
