Exciting changes could be on the horizon for Jackson State University football. Mississippi Representative Robert L. Johnson III (D-District 94) introduced groundbreaking legislation that seeks to allocate $40 million to build a state-of-the-art multipurpose athletic facility for JSU. This initiative not only aims to rebuild the Tigers’ athletic infrastructure, but also addresses the space limitations of the neighboring University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).

For more than five decades, Jackson State Football played at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium, a site steeped in history since its construction in 1950.
