Washington Commanders bold predictions for the Wild Card matchup against the Buccaneers

For his wildcard game against the Buccaneers, Washington commanders may have an X-factor. And if you want to see bold predictions for Tampa Bay, see here. With the wild card game scheduled for the Washington Commanders against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it’s time for some postseason madness. Ahead of the Commanders-Buccaneers playoff game, we’ll be making our Commanders wild card predictions.

The Buccaneers (10-7) enter as the NFC South division champions and will be at home as the No. 3 seed. The Commanders finished with a better result (12-5), but they only managed to beat the 6th seed. These teams met in the first game of the season with Tampa Bay winning 37-20.

Every NFL team has its share of injuries during the season, but the Commanders do a pretty solid entryaccording to Dan Quinn‘s comments to commanders.com.

“I feel good going into the weekend,” Quinn said. “I actually feel good about the health of the team, so that’s a good thing when you get to this time of year and you’re going for guys.” And hopefully some guy will come back.”

The Commanders will play a closer game this time

Several reasons contributed to the commander’s poor performance in the first week. It turned out to be the only game Washington lost by more than a touchdown.

Jaden Daniels struggled in his first NFL start and Baker Mayfield wore down the Commanders with four touchdown passes and 289 yards. But commanders have improved leaps and bounds since that day, Quinn said.

“I would say we’re the scheme and we knew we were going to grow into it,” Quinn said. “All three phases, guys come together. What we didn’t know was who they were and what we’ve learned over these 17 weeks, this is a resilient group, man. These guys love to fight. They have a real connection. That’s really powerful stuff. See how close they are. You see it on the field, off the field, I love what we stand for. The guys really put the work into the situation and the situation.”

However, to have a chance to win, the Commanders need to do better against Mayfield. That’s a tall order because the Commanders’ lackluster run defense will allow opportunities for big plays in the passing game.

“(Mayfield) just had a fantastic year,” Quinn said. “Now that we’re going into full breakdowns now and we’re getting into it, when you put somebody in that early you don’t necessarily see everything.” Then you look up and see, 41 touchdowns and see the great progress of moments and people. Yeah, a lot of respect for what they do offensively, for sure.”

Maybe the moment will help the commanders get where they want to go. They won five games in a row.

“I think in the last month our games have come down to the wire,” Quinn said. “And what I told them last night, just because we can doesn’t mean we have to do this.” But I like that there’s a confidence with the group because they’ve been in a lot of fights and on that side when you’re there, there’s no panic about it.”

KB Jaiden Daniels will rush for 60-plus yards

For the Commanders to have any kind of shot, Daniels will have to play with his feet. Look for a few designed runs, but the bulk of Daniels’ yardage should come in the pass-play game.

However, Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles warned his team that Daniels is not the only guy to worryaccording to Sports Illustrated.

“I think if you face a rookie quarterback, the other 10 guys are going to kill you,” Bowles said. “We’re facing (commanders), we’re not facing Jayden Daniels. They have 10 other guys we have to worry about as well. We’re not looking at it as a rookie quarterback — we’re trying to beat the (Commanders).”

On the season, Daniels threw for 3,568 yards with 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also rushed for 891 yards and six more scores.

Commanders TE Zach Ertz will catch a TD pass

Look for the Buccaneers to stop Terry McLaurin when the Commanders get into the red zone. This will open up the midfield for Ertz, who likely needs to have a big game for the Commanders to pull off a win.

For the season, Ertz has 66 catches for 654 yards and seven touchdowns. Moreover, he came up with more big catches.

Ertz found a new home with the commander and made most of itaccording to vusa9.com.

“When this opportunity came up, I told my agent, I said, it doesn’t matter what the contract looks like or the financials,” Ertz said. “It’s really about going to a place that believes in me and allows me to have fun again.” Whether it was one year, two years or five more years of playing football, I really wanted to get back to having fun and enjoying myself. And this place exceeded all my expectations.”
