JJ Redick joins trade rumors amid pressure on LeBron James and Anthony Davis

LOS ANGELES – With NBA trade deadline fast approaching, the Los Angeles Lakers will be a team to watch out for. With both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are reportedly pressuring the organization to make a trade or two, the head coach of the Lakers JJ Redick was asked about that, along with the potential trade deadline, after their 117-96 win against the Boston Celtics on Thursday.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis reportedly believe the Lakers are just one or two games away from championship contention, Davis goes so far as to say that he played his best basketball alongside another big man.

When asked about the recent Lakers trade deadline reports, JJ Redick was very honest in his assessment.

“No reaction.” The reality is that it is not a new report. I got the job six months ago, I know that. I have followed this team since I retired. “Just put a date next to it, it’s a report, it’s not a big deal,” Reddick said. “Those guys want to win, we want to win. It’s a challenging environment to go out and trade.”

“I feel very fortunate that we were able to execute and bring someone like Dorian Finney-Smith to our team,” Redick continued. “We’ll continue to look over the next few weeks.”

With the NBA trade deadline coming up on February 6th, The Lakers have been linked to centers like Nikola Vucevic lately.

The identity of the Lakers is formed after the victory of the Celtics

In perhaps their best win of the season, the Lakers dominated from start to finish against their age-old rival, the Celtics. During the season so far, Redick has mentioned countless times about playing with connection and raising the bar in terms of building an identity.

After the Lakers were humiliated by the Clippers last weekend, they responded with impressive back-to-back wins. With a five-game road trip coming up, Redick talked about how these wins, especially against the Celtics, can ignite this team.

“Strengthening our standards, strengthening our identities.” When we do those things at a high level, we can beat anybody in the league. . .I feel like the group knows that and feels that, but the determination to do it every night, regardless of the shots, regardless of the opponent heating up, you have to have that determination in the game every night,” Redick said. “It is for me, as much as our standard that we’re trying to achieve.” That’s what great teams do and that’s what we’re trying to achieve.”
