Drew McIntire reveals key WWE signing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

When fans reflect on his early WWE career Drew McIntyrethey often think about “Chosen,” nickname Vince McMahon pushed when he came from Scotland.

Pushed to the moon early on before practically burning out in a shocking turnaround, landing in teams and as part of the Three Man Band before being famously released from his contract, McIntyre had to more or less reinvent himself on the indie, putting on the kind of presentation that now lead RAV or SmackDown to this day.

Yet in a recent interview with the Daily Mail, McIntyre noted that someone who played a big role in his career was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who became a fan early in his run and provided several key co-signs along the way.

“He always looked out for me from the very beginning of my career, he always had such positive words. I just told a story about meeting his ex-wife, Denny, on a plane, and she told me that The Rock were big fans of mine and saw big things in the future, which was so cool to hear back then. Then fast forward to so many years later, in 2017, I believe it was when TMZ asked him who he thought would be the next big player. And it wasn’t like I was going to win the Rumble. I was still kind of a random, bad guy on the show, and he could pick me and say, ‘Drew McIntire. He’s the one to watch out for,” McIntyre told the Daily Mail.

“He always had such positive comments in public.” When I signed again, I sent the sword as a small gift. He was always there for advice and to include me in his live stream after the match, I didn’t really expect it, but I’m honored that he’s willing to shine a light on me. And he cursed at first, then I saw an opportunity. It’s so hard not to swear you’re Scottish. So I had a little laugh, and I had to ask for a little favor, and he’s working on it for me.”

While some fans were quite joking about the “People’s Champion”. literally handing over the sword to the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion after agreeing to a new deal with the promotion, it proves the special bond the multi-millionaire has with the ‘Scottish Warrior’ as he doesn’t just hand out weapons of war to anyone.

What this small favor might be remains to be seen, however, as given how McIntire has been featured on WWE TV over the past year, it could be literally anything from bringing back his old theme to a literal in-ring assist. quest to take down Roman Reigns’ version of Bloodline.
