in 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend will take place from February 14-16. Here’s everything you need to know about the voting results, rosters and rookies who will be traveling to the San Francisco Bay Area.

When does the 2025 NBA All Star voting begin?

NBA All-Star voting for the 2025 game began Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10 a.m. ET. Voting for the All Stars will continue until Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET.

How to Vote for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game

Fans could vote for NBA All-Star Game starters on the NBA app or NBA.com.

This year, the NBA is bringing back a new wrinkle called “3-for-1 Days.” In those days, fans had six days when their vote was counted three times. The 3-for-1 voting days are below:

• January 3
• January 10
• January 17
• January 20

What is the format for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?

The format this season is a four-team, three-game, one-night tournament, with three teams featuring eight All-Stars each, and the fourth team being the winner of the Rising Stars challenge for first- and second-year players. The winning team in all games will be the first to reach 40 points.

How does NBA All-Star voting work?

Despite the new format, the NBA All-Star voting process will be the same as last year. NBA All-Star Game starters are chosen by fans, NBA players and the media. Fan votes make up 50 percent of the votes. All current players and a select group of media representatives will each have 25 percent. Players and media submit only one ballot.

How are reserves selected?

Reserves are selected by voting among the head coaches, although head coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players. There are seven reserves per conference.

When will the voting results be announced?

Updates on fan voting were published on January 2nd, 9th and 16th. TNT will reveal the starters for the NBA All-Star Game on Thursday, January 23rd. The rosters will be announced on Thursday, January 30th during the TNT NBA tip-off.

How will the teams be selected?

TNT analysts Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith will draft the 24-man All-Star teams on Feb. 6. The teams will bear their names — Team Shaq, Team Charles and Team Kenny.

The Rising Star winner who will go on to the All-Star Tournament will be named Team Candace, after Candace Parker.

Who will coach the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?

The coaching staffs of the teams with the best results in the Eastern and Western Conferences will go to the All-Star game. (It can’t be the Milwaukee or Minnesota coaching staff this year, since they coached last year.)

The East and West head coaches will coach each team in the tournament; one assistant coach from each staff will serve as the head coach for the other two teams in the All-Star tournament.

What is prize money?

There is a $1.8 million prize pool for the All-Star game.

Each player on the All-Star championship team will receive $125,000, each player on the runner-up team will receive $50,000, and players on the teams eliminated in the semifinals will each receive $25,000.

When is the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?

The 2025 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The game begins at 8 PM ET in San Francisco, California.
