Karl-Anthony Towns of the Knicks changed his Eagles jersey after an online fan outcry
Leading up to New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers matchstar center Karl-Anthony Towns was seen entering the Wells Fargo Center wearing a Philadelphia Eagles sweater, and the New York sports faithful did not appreciate it.
Even though the Knicks didn’t play at Madison Square Garden, fans still took to social media to express their displeasure with Towns clothes before the game. The New Jersey native must have gotten the news, or seen the reaction online, because it’s fast decided to change his clothes.
Towns was held to a 125-119 win over the 76ers on Wednesday with thumb injury suffered in the Knicks’ Monday night loss to the Detroit Pistons.
The Knicks were able to pull out the win, improving their record to 27-15. It was a much-needed performance, especially with Towns unavailable. They are still trying to catch the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are just dominating the Eastern Conference so far at 34-5. And the Boston Celtics are slightly ahead in 2nd place with 28-12. New York returns to its home floor against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.

Towns is certainly out of favor with New York fans for now, despite a quick wardrobe change. But he is still not the only one Knicks star to show love to Eaglesor in Philly.
Jalen Brunson, who played at Villanova, has dressed in Philly gear before, even wearing an Eagles jersey on some occasions before Knicks games (at least KAT had a sweater).
Fans have since forgiven Brunson, and the NBA All-Star point guard has never shied away from his Eagles fandom. Ahead of Philadelphia’s huge NFC division showdown against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Knicks fans will have to deal with both Brunson and Towns rooting for them to make the NFL playoffs.
