Jiri Prochazka is targeting Alex Pereira’s trilogy after a potential UFC 311 victory



Jiri Prochazka has a tall task ahead of himhis UFC 311 weekend. Ahead of the match, he still firmly believes he will eventually get another shot Alec Pereira.

Prochazka will fight another former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jamahal Hill, at UFC 311 main card January 18. For those who don’t know, both have losses to the current champion, Alex Pereira, and both want a chance to avenge their loss and regain the title.

During a recent interview with MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn, Jiri Prochazka talked about wanting to fight Pereira in the trilogy after a potential win at UFC 311.

In everything I can face Alex Pereira for the third time,” Prochazka said. “Sorry, I believe that.” I really believe that I can be a champion, and I’m going for it, to be a champion again. There are no more words.”

Prochazka entered the Octagon for his first fight against Pereira as a UFC champion who had never lost a belt inside the Octagon. After taking the title from Glover Teixeira at UFC 275, he had to vacate the belt after suffering an injury at the end of 2022.

Prochazka returned to the cage to compete for the vacant light heavyweight title against Pereira at UFC 295 in November 2023. Brazilian knockout artistt stopped Prochazka in the second round to become the first UFC fighter to win both the middleweight and welterweight titles.

Prochazka then returned to the winning column with a second-round TKO victory over Aleksandar Rakic ​​at UFC 300. That win earned him a rematch against Pereira. The two fought in a rematch at UFC 303 in June 2024. Unfortunately for the challenger, he came up short that night and was once again knocked out by the light heavyweight champion.
