Anthony Davis reveals a special gift for first responders to the Los Angeles wildfires
Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis admits how difficult the past week has been for the city, due to the devastating forest fires. Davis and the Lakers thank the firefighters and first responders who battled the fires. Davis is given away free Lakers tickets for emergency services, according to ESPN.
The Lakers star also plans to meet with some of the first responders in person. Devastating fires damaged thousands of buildings and also burned homes from several celebrities.
“It’s obviously a tough time for our city,” Davis told Spectrum SportsNet. “One thing we’ve discovered during COVID is that sports bring joy back to people, even if it’s temporary.
The Lakers finally returned to the court on Mondayafter several games were canceled due to the unfortunate situation. Los Angeles lost the first game after the fires started to the San Antonio Spurs. The final score was 126-102, and Davis scored 30 points.

The city is by no means in the clear, after several fires throughout the metro. The cause of the fire is under investigation. More than 20 people were killed and hundreds of thousands of people had to leave their homes.
Fires have brought sports to a halt in Los Angeles in recent days. NBA officials had to postpone the Lakers and Clippers gamesand the Rams had their NFL playoff game moved to Arizona.
Davis says he wanted the Lakers to win the game against the Spurs. He finished the contest with a double-double, with 13 rebounds and a total of points.
“We were eager to play basketball again in front of our fans, and it’s a shame we didn’t get the win,” Davis added.
The Lakers are scheduled to play the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Los Angeles is now 20-17 on the season after the loss to the Spurs.
