Mike Vrabel reveals what he will ‘remove’ as head coach

Like people make predictions about how Mike Vrabel will behave with New England Patriots, Rob Gronkowski thought it would be a good idea to help Vrabel choose a stick. Also, Vrabel revealed what will remove as coach of the Patriots, according to nfl.com.

“We’re going to take the law out of our team,” Vrabel said.

The Patriots, who fired Jerod Mayo after one season as head coach, cruised to a 4-13 season. They chose to win in Week 18, snapping a six-game losing streak and moving them into a lower position for the 2025 NFL Draft.

What does Patriots HC Mike Vrbael bring to the table?

2008: Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel talks to the media this afternoon.

The first thing seems to be an infusion of excitement.

“I want to encourage our football team,” Vrabel said. “I want to galvanize this building, (and) I want to bring our fans to life. The most important (parts) are the players. Some of them are right here. I want to provide a program that ensures their ownership but also their accountability to each other and a program that they will be proud to be a part of and fight for.

“We will earn the right to be here every day.” (And) we’re going to get everything we’ve earned, from the head coach to the position coach, all the way down to the players. We will earn the right to be here every day.”

Vrabel he will have to hope gets more rope than Mayo. The owner Robert Kraft said he made a mistake in hiring Mayo, according to nfl.com.

“This whole situation is on me,” Kraft said. “I feel terrible for Jerod because I put him in an untenable situation.” I know that as a head coach he has all the tools to be successful in this league. He just needed more time before taking the job. At the end of the day, I’m a fan of this team first, and now I have to go out and find a coach to get us back to the playoffs and hopefully a championship.”

Victory will continue to be the bottom line for Mike Vrabel

Vrabel will have to win games, or maybe lose them more efficiently. Kraft said he was bothered by the way the Patriots lost those 13 games.

“In major decisions in my life, I’ve always said measure nine times and cut once,” Kraft said. “This was one of those situations. I guess the most important thing for me is that I felt that we had regressed. The highlight for me was the game (week one) in Cincinnati. Midway through the season, I just think we started to regress.”

Kraft said Vrabel brought a veteran knowledge of the game.

“In the interview process, Mike showed us that he has a very deep understanding of our current team,” Kraft said. “And most importantly, he had a clear and focused strategy to get us back on the championship path that is so important to all of us.” But also something that I think our fan base really deserves and expects.”
