Mets Debth Infielder suffers injury to shoulder in spring training
The New York Mets begin Spring training with a bang. Juan Soto hit Homer on Saturday in her first AT-BatLaunch of fans in flares. But less than 24 hours later, Carlos Mendoz announced another area of spring harmonia. Mets Dubth Infield Nick Madrigal will undergo MRI for shoulder injury, according to the manager.
“He dislocated the left shoulder that came to the ball,” Mendoza told reporters. “So he will get MRI in the next 24 hours and then we will see what we have. But dislocated left shoulder.”
Madrigal started playing on Sunday against Washington citizens in Shortstop, but the game left the first game. Wyatt Young, the 25-year-old look, she entered and finished the game. Madrigal was a piece who met that he would replace Jose Iglesias, who was a huge part of their NLC last year.
The METS let the Iglesias walk in a free agency after negotiations failed. But with Madrigal pain, they may have to get another depth of Infielder to break camp. If Iglesias is ready to sign a one-year contract, he could return to Amazens soon. But if Iglesias wants to go somewhere else, where should they turn?

Mets can be without Nick Madrigala long and must get a different service infielder in a free agency. Given the Iglesia, it is probably not an option, who should sign? There are many options, including Merrifield.
Iglesias is by far the best option available after the epic season that mostly plays the second base. With Francisco Lindor in the short term, Mark Vientos in third place, and in the beginning of Pete Alonso, the second largest position of Inflato concerns. Jeff McNeil was brutal when she was healthy last year and they must be ready for a poor start this year.
This is why Merrifield is the best option of non-Iglesias. He was the second base for most careers and brings some speed to basic trails for 36 years. This would be a one-year contract for a player who is familiar with their division after splitting last year between files and courageous.
Outside Merrifield there are not many options that can play second, third and short. Joey Vendle could return to Queens after the disappointing 2024 season or Brian Anderson could stay in the NL east. But the best option is Merrield if Iglesias does not return.
