Warriors’ Draymond Green calls out Jusuf Nurkic for Nadzi Marshall’s altercation

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green addressed quarrel between Jusuf Nurkić and Nadži Maršal from the match between the Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks on December 27th heated exchange between Nurkic and Marshall led to a fight and the ejection of both players. The NBA suspended Nurkic for three games and Marshall for four games.

“I didn’t really get it,” Green said on the Draymond Green Show. “He just, out of nowhere, picked an argument and swung.”

“I hope that brother got the help he needed because that was a RANDOM man.”

Green also mentioned the confusion he had about Nurkic playing the victim, holding his head while following the dilemma.

“I’m very surprised that the guy who was assaulted has been suspended for more games,” Green continued.

The It seems that Nurkic is on the Sun bench for now, as he did not play (coach’s decision) in Thursday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks. Nurkic was suspended three games without payaccording to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.

“I don’t regret it,” said Nurkic. “I would probably do it again if I had to.”

Nurkic doesn’t appear to have much of a problem if the Suns trade him, but his on-court issues could eventually catch up with him in his career if they continue.

While Green is fair about Nurkic and his repeated incidents, it’s also quite ironic given Green’s controversial history on the floor. His fiery temper led to his own share of suspensions and fines during his 13 years in the NBA.

The Warriors play the Suns again on Jan. 31, but it’s possible Nurkic could be traded before the deadline, especially if the Suns continue to bench him. The Suns are 17-19 and trying to turn their season around to make the playoffs. They will have to find balance within the roster.
