2 Top Players Jaguars Must Trade in 2025 NFL offSeasia

The Jacksonville Jaguars turning heads coaching the reins of Liam Coen. Now he can consider building his first Jags roster — including making cuts to the trade market.

Tampa Bay’s former slot offensive coordinator is still without a general manager in his new post. Trent Baalke lost the role before Cohen officially won the HC job. But regardless of who takes the GM reins, the koona probably won’t hesitate to hit the trade table.

The Jaguars have gone 5-18 since their 8-3 start in 2023. Like Trevor Lawrence, Travis EtiennePricey newcomers Brian Thomas Jr., even Josh Allen on defense, all need help.

Here are now two major trade ideas that can benefit the Jaguars players mentioned above.

Otto, Te, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Falls

Coen has talented offensive pieces to work with. But he still needs to bring in a veteran who knows his system — plus he’s had success in it.

That’s where tight end Cade Otton comes into the picture here. Otton is fresh off a new career high in receptions (59), yards (600) and tied for a previous best of four touchdowns. But he has one year left on his current contract.

Granted, BuCs can try to lock Ottan down to a new, richer contract. However, changes around BUC could convince him to look for a trade. He no longer has a koon to authorize him. Even assistant general manager John Spitek was shut out of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Jacksonville already had Evan ENGRAM to think about in that room. Embed carries a massive hit of $19.5 million and has $13.5 million in dead cap space for 2025. The Jaguars likely want to clear cap space before ENGRAM’s deal expires in 2026. Maybe Jacksonville and TB can pull off some more mentions and premier names and replacements for both. Or Jacksonville can release ENGRAM, making the Jags go crazy for trading the younger Otto.

Regardless, Coen needs someone who can show him the ropes of his offensive system. Otton can give the 6-foot-5-5 new target a chance to look to form a potentially strong tandem with Brenton Strange — who improved his rebounding, added bulk and tackle this past season. Fans should also envision COEN pairing the 6-foot-4 Ottan and that together on the same side.

Jaicee Horn, CB, Carolina Panthers

Jacksonville picks fifth in the 2025 NFL draft. Cornering is one major need. But it is not certain that Bett Travis Hunter will fall to no. 5. The Jaguars also have powerful defensive lineman Mason Graham to think about – Who is projected to land in Duval County by NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah.

Young, Veteran Cornerball Increases more appeal for Jaguars to address their CB need. Jaicee Horn should be snubbed on any type of trade board, the Jags are set.

Pantry CB becomes an official free agent in 2026, but he has Weather of $12.4 million hit and dead cap attached to it. Pasteur has shown that he will not hesitate to clear the opening of the room – throwing his best players. Carolina has already pursued Brian Burns, Jeremy Chinn and back in 2022, Christian McCaffrey.

Horn is still young at 25 years old. He’s coming off a career-best 68 total sacks, 49 solo stops, 13 pass breakups over eight years, and even grabbed his first two sacks of his NFL career.

The son of the legendary New Orleans Saints wide receiver has emerged as a mid-trade idea in 2024. Rog managed to stick with Charlotte, despite multiple interested plays around the league. But the horn can be re-established as CB1 south of Charlotte. Plus, get your chance to lock down the likes of Calvin Ridley, Nico Collins, Michael Pittman II, even a healthier Stefon Diggs. Jacksonville gets some much needed blocking CB through the horn.
